Thursday, March 20, 2008 Results Marketing Inc. finishes logo! Personally I love it but it isn't only me who needs to be impressed so, tell me what you think. If I have anything to say about it people on PEI will be seeing a lot of this logo and I would like to know what you feel it says about me and HJC. I appreciate honesty (even when I don�t agree with it) so please tell me your honest opinions. A HUGE thank-you goes out to everyone who has supported me and continues to support me through this journey... you know who you are.
Friday, February 22, 2008 Financing has come through! Thanks to some hard work, some good luck and help from TD Canada Trust we�ve secured financing for HJC! This means we are in full swing putting things together for July of this year. Without the help and support of Larry and Sarah Jones or the wonderful professional advice and services of Beaton Fitzpatrick Murray and Results Marketing Inc. we wouldn't have come this far. Our location does not have a civic number yet but will be located on the Cornwall Road near East Wiltshire School. Much more has to be done and keeping this momentum we are well on our way. Friday, February 8, 2008 Things are looking good for HJC!! Some new events have taken place recently that are very exciting. Although we were hoping to locate HJC out in Emyvale things didn't pan out and we were back to the drawing board early this week. Fortunately for us, a 75 acre property on the Cornwall Road looked like an excellent plan B and we heard yesterday that our offer had been accepted! We are in full gear ensuring financing is in place and hope to have good news before the end of February.
Sunday, January 27, 2008 TYPS Conference a raging success!!! After an amazing weekend full of success and support - I am trying to take everything in. It was wonderful to learn who was out there actively working with youth and trying to make a difference. Youth from two organizations came along and were a wealth of information. If any of you read this thanks so much for your input and advice - next time we meet I hope to get you all up on horses! I think it's safe to say that our centre was received well by those who came. TYPS is a wonderful organization and a fountain of information. Thanks for the encouragement and the education - I appreciate both. I hope anybody who checks in with this site feels free to comment - I'll look forward to hearing from you and to meeting you all face to face again soon!
Saturday, January 19, 2008 We are Registered! With the sale of the land finalized and the funds in the bank we are thrilled to start the negotiating process for land. By the end of January we should have something on paper. In other news - next week from January 25-27 Town and Youth Participation Strategies (TYPS.com) is hosting a workshop at the Rodd Royalty Inn where I will be able to present the Hughes-Jones Centre and what we hope to accomplish. This is an excellent learning opportunity as well as a soap box for me to wax poetic about this endeavor. Wish me luck! I hope all had a wonderful Holiday - looking forward to all 2008 has to offer.
